Commission approves history presentation to middle school students

Chicopee Historical Commission approves Chimelis history presentation to schools. The seven-member commission voted unanimously on March 10 to approve Ronald Chimelis' presentation on Chicopee history, which will be delivered to students at Dupont Middle School on April 17 and at Lambert-Lavoie School in May. The presentation covers the city's name origins, school histories, Shays Rebellion, MacArthur's Ball, Spalding Manufacturing, Fisk Rubber Company, and Westover Air Reserve Base.
