Chicopee Parks Commission approves Great Strides Walk and fireworks, tables park events. Commissioners approved the Great Strides Walk to Cure Cystic Fibrosis for May 17 at Szot Park and set the annual Szot Park Fireworks for June 27, with a June 28 rain date. A request from Monica Torres of the Mayor's Office to use city parks for various 2026 events was tabled to March pending more details.
Superintendent Ben Strepka reported four open positions and a resolved vandalism incident at Stefanik.
