Health Insurance Trust approves 8.5 percent rate increase for FY27

CHICOPEE — The Chicopee Health Insurance Trust unanimously approved an 8.5 percent rate increase for three major health plans in fiscal 2027. The five-member board voted to increase rates for Health New England, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Diversified Group Benefit plans following HUB's analysis of claims data and administrative expenses. Chairman Marie LaFlamme, members Tiana Steffenhagen, Ana Gomes, Mayor John Vieau, and Doctor Marcus Ware all voted in favor.
The board also unanimously approved the financial report for the period ending March 2026, with plans running as expected.
