Conservation Commission · Meeting of August 19, 2026

Chicopee Conservation Commission votes unanimously to approve residential subdivision in wetland buffer zone. The Commission voted 5-0 to issue determinations for Bretta Construction's subdivision at 340 Pendleton Avenue, authorizing grading and stormwater installation within the Terrace Escarpment soils buffer zone. The approval requires installation of "Do Not Disturb" wetland protection signs before site work and standard erosion control including straw bales and silt fencing.

The stormwater infiltration basins are designed for 100-year storm events. The Commission separately tabled a Notice of Intention for approximately 8,000 linear feet of security fencing at Westover Metropolitan Airport to September 2 pending receipt of an NHESP environmental report.
