Chicopee City Council unanimously elects new leadership. Frank N. Laflamme was elected President and Samuel Robert Shumsky Vice President in a brief organizational meeting on January 5.
All 13 councilors were present, with Gerard A. Roy participating via Zoom. Laflamme won the presidency on an all-council roll call vote, while Shumsky secured the vice presidency after the council voted individually among three nominees, Abigail Arriaga, Shumsky, and William C.
Courchesne, until reaching a seven-vote threshold.
