Chicopee Retirement Board approves five retirements, plans COLA consideration. The board unanimously approved five superannuation retirements and six retirement pension calculations, with Police Chief Patrick Major receiving the highest annual pension at $133,043.04. The board also approved 24 new members to the system, four refund requests, and two transfers to other systems.

In forward-looking action, the board notified the City Council it will consider a cost-of-living adjustment effective July 1, 2026, in a public meeting scheduled for March 25, 2026. The board set regular interest for 2026 at 0.1 percent and mileage rates at 72.5 cents per mile, up 2.5 cents from 2025.
