Chicopee Zoning Committee clears way for 39-home residential project. The City Council Zoning Committee unanimously approved dimensional waivers for Jones Ferry Development's proposal at 326 Chicopee Street, allowing lot sizes ranging from 1,500 to 7,500 square feet. Planners described the project as a catalyst for the Willimansett neighborhood under an EPA-funded Brownsfield plan.

The committee also approved three other applications: a zone change for 799 Front Street for single-family use (Planning Board unanimous recommendation), a Special Permit for Enid V. Coleman to operate the Atlas Pub at 300 Carew Street with alcohol service, and a zone change at 725 and 745 Memorial Drive to allow 14 to 16 additional mobile home units. The committee continued a four-dog kennel permit application at 54 Chester Street to July 29, 2026, pending departmental inspections and recommendations.
