Board approves two variances in routine zoning hearing

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of February 11, 2026

Chicopee zoning board approves two property variances in a routine February hearing. The Zoning Board of Appeals voted 6-0 to re-approve a variance at 1601 Westover Rd reducing frontage requirements to allow a single-family lot, after a prior December 2024 approval had expired due to no construction beginning within one year. The Board also voted 6-0 to approve a variance at 206 Newbury St reducing setback requirements to permit a canopy over fuel pumps at a property operated as a service station since the 1940s-1950s.

A storage shed variance at 1036 Granby Rd was tabled to March 11 after the applicant did not appear.
