Board approves disability retirements and pension calculations

Chicopee Retirement Board approves disability retirements and pension allowances for city employees. The board unanimously approved two accidental disability applications from Fire Department and Police Department employees that will advance to the Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission for medical panel review. The board also approved pension calculations for five recently retired city employees with combined annual pensions of $346,749, including Christopher Lareau, a Police Department senior sergeant receiving $101,504.88 annually.
Additionally, the board approved three superannuation retirement applications and processed 16 new memberships in the retirement system.
